About Us

Imara Africa amplifies the voice of the youth in decision-making processes, builds their confidence and leadership skills and prepares them for active leadership roles in civic and public spaces within their respective communities

FAQ's

Imara targets young African leaders who are passionate about their communities. The fellowship is ideal for those aspiring to join the public sector either at a technical or political levels. Or community development champions who want develop skills on how better to collaborate with Government to better support the development of their communities.

Imara Fellowship is fully sponsored. Applicants are not expected to pay any fees

A call goes out on annual basis inviting applications. Stay on the lookout for the 2022 December Call

Program Components

Residential Academy

Each academy is structured around a theme and focuses on introducing the participants to each other, building a community of future collaborators.

Online Learning

Participants are selected to sponsored to undertake a certificate course related to policy & Governance with one of the globally recognized Universities.

Community Collaboration

Participants then have a year to engage the community through scheduled visits, engagement with county Governments, Focus group discussions & Community forums.

Public Lectures & Leadership Cafes

Through the year, the program organizes leadership cafes around defined themes to further strengthen the capacity of our fellows.
